The Community Thrift Shop is staffed by dedicated volunteers and their mission is to provide quality secondhand goods at reasonable prices. All items in our shop are donated by the community and proceeds go to The LakeView Foundation.
The LakeView Foundation became a private foundation in January of 2008 and is made up of local community leaders that are committed to improving the health and healthcare of the people and communities in Eastern Van Buren County.
The Foundation has brought access to prostate screenings, new mammography equipment, advanced life-support ambulance service in Van Buren County, as well as distribution of scholarships to nursing and healthcare students in Southwest Michigan.
LakeView Foundation made a contribution for enhancements projects at the new Bronson Commons, a rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility under construction on Red Arrow Highway in Mattawan.
Last year 54 scholarships were awarded to area students going into the health care field. Each scholarship is for $2000 and is renewable for 3 years.
