Special Tribute
To
COMMUNITY THRIFT SHOP
2016 Conservationist of the Year
LET IT BE KNOWN, That it is with profound admiration for the difference that they have made in the community that we commemorate the Community Thrift Shop in Paw Paw as they are recognized by the Van Buren Conservationist District as the 2016 Conservationist of the year. As members of the community and the VBCD, along with managers and volunteers of the Community Thrift Shop, gather to celebrate this event, we add our voice to commend the Community Thrift Shop for the work they have done to earn this honor.
Paw Paw’s Community Thrift Shop is not a traditional resale shop. Their managers and volunteers are dedicated, hardworking, and passionate. They go above and beyond to make a difference in the Van Buren community. The Community Thrift Shop has taken service to another level. They have outgrown their first location and are now working on outgrowing their current location. They have expanded their collection efforts and are dedicated to finding second homes for any materials that are donated.
The Community Thrift Shop is a primary partner with the VBCD in Van Buren County’s recycling program, specifically electronic recycling. They are passionate about helping people and the planet and truly live up to their tag line “we believe in second chances”. With the partnership between the VBCD and Green Earth Recycling, the Community Thrift Shop has been able to help recycle tens of thousands of pounds of electronics over the past two years.
IN SPECIAL TRIBUTE, Therefore, This document is signed and dedicated to commemorate the Community Thrift Shop in Paw Paw as they are recognized by the VBCD as the 2016 Conservationist of the Year. May the future continue to bring them great success.
